Healthy Chilli Con Carne

My favorite easy chili recipe full of ground beef and black beans is such a satisfying and comforting bowl of chili!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion Diced
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef I use 96/4
  • 1 can Black Beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 28 oz Crushed Tomatoes can
  • 1 cup Beef Broth

Spices

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 3/4 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chipotle Powder If you are sensitive to heat, use less
  • 1.5 tbsp Cumin
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Optional Ingredients

  • shredded cheese
  • sour cream
  • avocado
  • tortilla chips

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot over medium heat, heat the oil and saute the diced onions until they are starting to brown
  • Add the beef, tomato paste, and all of the spices. Let this cook for about 5-10 minutes or until the beef is nice and brown. The more you brown the meat, the better the flavor will be.
  • When the beef is just about done browning, add the crushed tomatoes, mix well and let this come to a low boil.
  • Add the beans and beef broth and then cover and cook on low heat for 25-30 minutes.
  • Turn off heat and serve immediately with your favorite toppings or eat alone.
