Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

All the flavors of a juicy cheeseburger rolled in to a crispy crunchy egg roll wrapper. These Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are similar to the ones sold at Disney Parks and the Cheesecake Factory. I also created a quick "big mac" sauce to dunk these in! They are so good!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef 90/10
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 small Yellow Onion chopped super fine
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely minced
  • 12 oz Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 12 Egg Roll Wrappers
  • Oil for Pan Frying
  • Oil Spray if you are planning to air fry these

Big Mac Sauce

  • 4 tbsp Thousand Island Dressing or French Dressing
  • 1/4 cup Pickles finely diced or use dill pickle relish

Instructions

  • Add Oil to a pan heated at medium heat
  • Add the onions to the pan. Stir them frequently and cook until most of the onions have a light brown color to them.
  • Add the garlic to the pan and continue cooking the onions and garlic.
  • Once the onions and garlic are golden brown, add your ground beef, salt and pepper
  • Cook the meat until fully cooked and then remove the pan from the heat.
  • Slowly add in about 1 cup of cheese. Let it melt using the residual heat of the meat.
  • Let the mixture cool slightly and then set up your egg roll wrapping station.
  • Set up your egg roll making station by filling a small bowl with water. You will use a little of this water to seal every egg roll. Open your egg roll wrappers package and keep a slightly damp paper towel over the package so that they do not dry out as you are rolling.
  • Lay an egg roll wrapper on the table, with a point facing toward you. Add 1.5 tablespoons of filling in the lower middle area of the egg roll wrapper. Then, add a little bit more cheese over the meat mixture.
  • Then, fold up the bottom half of the wrapper, fold over both sides, and then add water to the upper triangle of the wrapper. Fold it over so that it sticks. I have a video of how I did this on my Instagram @spinachandbacon
  • Set each egg roll aside until you are ready to fry.

Pan Fry Method

  • Add enough oil to come up half of an inch in a large skillet. You want the oil to be high enough to cover half of each egg roll, and then you will flip it and fry the other side.
  • Bring the skillet to medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the egg rolls to the pan. Once each side has gotten nicely brown, flip it over. Once both sides are brown, place each egg roll on a paper towel lined plate to catch any excess oil.
  • Serve with Big Mac sauce

Air Fry method

  • Spray each egg roll with cooking spray and make sure they are evenly coated. Cook the egg rolls at 390F for 8-10 minutes, flipping them after 5 minutes.

Big Mac Sauce

  • Finely dice the pickles and mix with thousand island dressing

Notes

Most egg roll wrappers come in a larger pack, so you can add things that are leftover in your fridge to create new types of egg rolls once you run out of cheeseburger filling
