Instructions
Make the ricotta mixture by combining the ricotta cheese, Italian blend cheese, garlic powder, marjoram, oregano, black pepper, and salt.
8 oz ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup Italian cheese blend, 3/4 tsp garlic powder, 3/4 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp marjoram, 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat your oven to 350 F
Roll out your pizza dough as large as possible without creating any holes. Using a 6” round circle cutter or a knife, cut the dough into 6 equal circles or pieces by hand.
1 pizza dough
You can use a small plate to trace the circles
Add a little bit of sauce to the center of the circles, followed by a couple of small spoonfuls of the ricotta mixture, then shredded mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and toppings.
1 cup pizza sauce, 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, 3/4 cup mini pepperoni
Fold over each calzone, and use a fork to crimp the edges to properly seal them. Add them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Create an egg wash by mixing together an egg and 1 tablespoon of water. Then spread the mixture over the top using a pastry brush.
1 egg
Bake the calzones for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
