Boursin Chicken Pasta
This boursin chicken pasta recipe uses boursin cheese, seasoned chicken breast, spinach, garlic, and bone broth. It takes just five ingredients (plus seasoning) to make this delicious and healthy meal. Boursin cheese is a french style cream cheese that is available in most grocery stores. I love to use the garlic and herb flavor but any boursin cheese will work. Choose your favorite pasta to pair with this dish and enjoy!

Boursin and Pasta
A couple of summers ago I made a tomato basil boursin pasta recipe that was so good. I loved the simplicity of that recipe because the creamy sauce came from using boursin cheese instead of cream plus cheese. Costco sells a three pack of boursin cheese for such a great price so it is great to stock up on that, keep the boursin in the fridge, and use one anytime you want to make a quick pasta dish like this.
I love that tomato basil boursin recipe, but I wanted to create a boursin and pasta recipe that had chicken and spinach instead of the tomatoes. Also, instead of using a baking dish, I wanted to cook it on the stove top. Most stove top recipes that call for boursin, also call for cream. This recipe is a bit lighter and doesn’t use additional cream or milk. I use some bone broth for added protein and a little bit of pasta water since that helps the sauce stick to the pasta better. The starch in the pasta water is really helpful when you are making creamy sauces.
Boursin Cheese and Pasta Recipe
Combining boursin cheese, bone broth (or broth), and pasta water makes a delicious sauce for pasta. The pasta water helps the creamy sauce coat the pasta so that it is not too watery. Boursin comes in a few flavors but I love the original garlic and herb flavor best. I chose a cavatappi pasta shape for this recipe because it looks cute and I love the way the sauce coats the noodles. Honestly though, use whatever pasta you already have.
This boursin cheese and pasta recipe also makes a great meal for meal prep. It makes about 3 -4 servings, so either make it for lunch for a few days or make it for dinner and then use the leftovers for lunches the next couple of days.
Chicken Pasta and Boursin Cheese
I love making one pot chicken and pasta meals using orzo, but when you are using bigger pasta shapes it is a bit more difficult to do this without overcooking the chicken. It is much better to cook the pasta separately and then when it is done, add it to the chicken and boursin cheese.
When you are cooking smaller pieces of chicken breast you want to make sure you do not over cook them. They cook pretty fast so I like to season them, brown both sides, and then add them to a plate while I make the sauce. Once the sauce is combined, I add the chicken back to the sauce on low heat to finish cooking because I add in the spinach.
