Baked Brie and Apple Crescent Rolls

These delicious baked brie and apple crescent rolls are the ultimate creamy, sweet, and savory appetizer. I added brie, apple jam, and slices of prosciutto to the middle of these crescent rolls and they bake up beautifully. You can substitute caramelized onions for the prosciutto, if you want to keep this meat-free. Once baked, I add a little bit more of the apple jam on top to give them a touch more sweetness and beautiful shine.

Easy Brie Crescent Rolls

I am always looking for an easy appetizer to make. Crescent roll appetizers are always pretty popular because who doesn’t love a crescent roll. Seriously, they are so easy to love. Adding a slice of brie to the center of a crescent roll, not only makes it taste delicious, but it feels a little fancy and a little special.

I wasn’t sure at first if the brie would get messy and flow everywhere as it melted so I wanted to wrap it in something prior to adding it into the crescent roll. I decided prosciutto was a good option since I love the combination of prosciutto and brie. If you also love this flavor combination, check out my recipe for prosciutto wrapped brie and for my crescent roll wreath. Adding prosciutto is completely optional. You can substitute caramelized onions for the prosciutto, as well.

And just because prosciutto is salty, I wanted to add a sweet element to these brie crescent rolls so I added some apple jelly that I got at a local farm. It was absolutely delicious. I love the creamy, sweet, and savory combination and I know you will love it too.

How to Caramelize Onions:

Add 1/4 tsp of salt to the onions and then cook on low heat for about 45 minutes or until all onions are a dark golden brown. Stir frequently while they are cooking. Put them into a small bowl once they are done cooking.

First, cut your onion in half, and then create thin slices from each half. I cook these onion slices in 1 tbsp of olive oil and 1 tbsp of salted butter.

Prosciutto, Jam, and Brie Crescent Rolls

These prosciutto, jam, and brie crescent rolls are a great appetizer to make around the holidays or whenever you are hosting. I love making cute little appetizers around the holidays, especially with crescent rolls and brie. Crescent rolls are super easy to use and are sold basically everywhere. Brie is such a nice cheese to bake with because it gets so creamy. Adding prosciutto and apple jam to these really creates a fun and unique little bite. These prosciutto and brie crescent rolls would also taste great with fig jam or honey.

Brie and Jam Crescent Rolls

If you have ever made a baked brie with jam then you know how good brie goes with a sweet jam. People use fig jam, cranberry sauce, strawberry jam, apricot jam, and raspberry preserves, so I thought it must also go well with apple jelly. And it does! You really can’t go wrong pairing brie with any sweet jam, but using apple jam makes this a fun Fall inspired appetizer. You can also try adding a thin slice of ham or prosciutto. For this baked brie and apple crescent roll recipe I also added prosciutto. I love how salty it is and it goes great with the sweetness of the jam. If you aren’t a fan of prosciutto you can use caramelized onions. They also pair so well with the brie.

Putting this appetizer together is easy. Just lay out your crescent rolls, spread a thin layer of jam, wrap your sliced brie in a slice of prosciutto, and then place it at the thick part of the crescent roll. Then, gently roll up the crescent roll and add it to a baking sheet. It takes about 15 minutes to bake up, and once it is ready, brush another coat of apple jam on top.

Aaaah, simple enough and perfect for an appetizer before the main event or Friendsgiving or for watching the game. Has the perfect sweet and salty mix. I can eat anything on a puff pastry but this one is perfection!
