Pizza Dip with Pepperoni and Hot Honey

Pizza Dip

Last year I created a Crab Rangoon Dip topped with Sweet Chili Sauce and it was so popular. I wanted to make a similar dip that I everyone would love, but without seafood. That is how I came up with this dip. This baked pepperoni pizza dip is the perfect dip to make for a holiday, gameday, or a party. The creamy cheese filling, mixed with the slight spice of pepperoni, sweetness of marinara sauce, and garlic creates such a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Then I top it with the hot honey which gives it a hint of sweetness, and it just becomes over the top. You will absolutely love this dip.

I tested this dip a couple times when I had friends over and then made it again for Christmas Eve this year. Everyone loved it so much and it also disappeared really fast from the table.  If I am having a large group, I would definitely plan on doubling this recipe.

Pepperoni Pizza Dip

Why Should You Make This Pepperoni Pizza Dip For Your Next Get-Together?

  1. Bold Flavor: This dip combines the creamy deliciousness of cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream, with the bold flavors of pepperoni, garlic, marinara sauce, and melty cheeses. Also, adults and kids alike love pepperoni pizza, so this dip is always a hit.
  2. Versatile Spice Level: Some pepperoni is spicier than others. If you love spice, you can also add in some sopressata or capicola(spicy) ham with the pepperoni.
  3. Quick and Easy: This dip takes about ten minutes to prep and 25 minutes to bake. With minimal prep and baking time, this recipe is a go-to for a busy host.
  4. Perfect for any occasion: If you are hosting a game day party, holiday, potluck, or just a casual gathering, I know this dip is going to be a crowd pleasure. The addition of the hot honey on top is going to make everyone love this dip more than they ever have before.
Cheesy Pizza Dip with pepperoni

What ingredients are in Pepperoni Pizza Dip?

  1. Pepperoni – I have always loved the taste of pepperoni better than salami. Pepperoni seems so balanced in flavor with a little bit of spice. If you would like to add a spicier meat like sopressata, you can do that too.
  2. Cream Cheese – This needs to be a room temperature when you are making the dip, so you can take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator a few hours before you begin. If you forget, you can always add it to a small microwavable bowl and heat it for 30 seconds. Also, buy cream cheese in a box, as whipped cream cheese does not work well for this recipe.
  3. Sour Cream – Adds a nice tangy flavor to the cream cheese
  4. Mayonnaise – Adds a wonderful creaminess
  5. Marinara Sauce – You can use homemade or your favorite jarred sauce. I buy the tomato basil sauce from trader joes and it delicious in this recipe.
  6. Cheese – I use freshly shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese in this recipe. The mozzarella is a great melting cheese and the parmesan gives this dip really nice flavor.
  7. Garlic – Do not be shy about the garlic. I used 4 cloves and it is very tasty!
  8. Herbs – Fresh Basil and dried Oregano are a must!
  9. Dippers – Fresh bread, fresh flatbread, crackers, or chips.

Perfect dish for a holiday or party. I tried this for the holidays and it was excellent. I usually get overdone with all of the holiday food. So I expected another heavy, overly spiced dip. Instead it had just the right spice and texture. Went great with some pita chips.
