Best New Trader Joe’s Products of 2024
I am back with a new list! The Best New Trader Joe’s Products of 2024! Last year I made a list ranking the best new trader joe’s products that came out in 2023 and this year I did it again. Actually, this is my 5th annual Best New Trader Joe’s Products list. If you are interested in reading all my previous lists, here is my 2022 list, 2021 list , and my 2020 list.
In order for a product to make it to this list, they have to have come out as a new product during this calendar year. That is really the only requirement. These are not my favorite Trader Joe’s items of all time. These are only my favorite new items of this year.
I consider myself “qualified” to make this list because I am married to a Trader Joe’s employee and Trader Joe’s is our default grocery store. Also, I am not a picky eater, nor do I think I am too good for frozen food, so I feel like I give everything a good try. I aim to try every new product that comes out, but I don’t always get around to everything. So, I guess this list is really only the best new items out of the new items that I have tried, but trust that I have tried mostly everything that comes out at Trader Joe’s. If I have missed something that you are really passionate about, leave me a comment below so that I can give it a try.
What Are The Most Popular Items At Trader Joe’s?
I am in a lot of Trader Joe’s groups on Facebook and one thing I notice is that their frozen foods and snacks seem to be the majority of people’s favorites! People always rave about the Orange Chicken, Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Party Meatballs. You won’t find either of those items below because they are older items, but without further ado scroll down to see my choice for the Best New Trader Joe’s Products of 2024.
10. Sonora Style Tortillas
Sonora Style Tortillas are a style of tortilla that is softer, thinner, and chewier than regular flour tortillas. They have a super pliable texture that makes them easier to use when rolling them into taquitos, quesadillas, enchiladas, or small burritos. These may not be the best tortillas that I have ever had, but these are the best tortillas that Trader Joe’s sells and they make meal creation easy and delicious. My favorite recipe to use these in is Chicken Quesadillas.
9. Everything But The Kitchen Sink Cookie Mix
I bought this cookie mix on a whim and I am so glad I did. They were borderline addictive and I had to stop myself from eating too many. I love all of the textures and tastes in these cookies. They have so many yummy bits in these like chocolate chunks, oats, walnuts, pretzels, caramel, and sea salt. All the textures work together to create one delicious cookie. All you need is the cookie mix, butter, and eggs and you too can make these delicious cookies!
8. Caesar Broccoli Bake Kit
I bought this product a few times and really enjoyed it. Very easy to make, and it turns roasted broccoli into something new and fun. To be honest, you could probably just add some caesar dressing to roasted broccoli and add parmesan cheese and you can recreate the same product, but I love that this had everything you need, including the pre cut broccoli, all in one kit. This with some grilled chicken or even a small steak creates such a delicious meal.
7. White Queso Dip
Ok, you have to be someone who loves hot queso dip to enjoy this one. If you grew up liking the Tostitos brand queso that came in the jar, you will love this. The ingredients are a lot better than those shelf-stable ones and it tastes so good! It is not too spicy and tastes best when warmed up. I loved adding this to nachos, tacos, burritos, anything really! Such a solid dip!
6. Crispy Shiitake Mushrooms
I loved these way more than I thought I would. Seriously, I could inhale the whole bag. I don’t even loves mushrooms all that much, but I do love shiitake mushrooms so I think that is why I love these. The air fry instructions are perfection. These are perfectly crisp and they have a delicious light beer batter on them. Dip them into marinara sauce or the vegan pesto. Honestly, even some of that buttermilk ranch that Trader Joe’s sells would be amazing!
5. Festive Chaos
2024 was a huge year for gummy candy. Swedish candy started trending on tiktok and by the end of the summer everyone was eating it. I have not always loved gummy candy because a lot of them stick to your teeth and I find that to be uncomfortable. But, Trader Joe’s makes delicious gummies that don’t stick to your teeth and this year they came out with a new seasonal type called Festive Chaos. This bag of gummies is so fun. It has a whole bunch of different sizes, shapes, and flavors all in one bag – hence the name chaos. There is even a sneaker gummy. My favorite are the coke bottles. By the time you read this list, these gummies may be gone for the season but make sure to look out for them next holiday season.
4. Mango Vinaigrette
These next four products are products that I bought over and over again this year. This mango vinaigrette is top tier. It is a sweet vinaigrette that goes so well with savory food. I used it to make fish and shrimp tacos so many times. I would carefully char some mini tortillas over the little flame on my stove, and then I added half of a bottle of vinaigrette to one bag of cole slaw mix(organic shredded green and red cabbage with orange carrots) and mixed them together. I would then cook my shrimp, fish nuggets, or fish, add it to the tortilla and top it with the cole slaw mix. It is so good, seriously, so good! I must have made this 50 times this year and it hit every single time.
3. Garlic String Beans
Ok, these are so good, even my 4 year old likes them. If you like garlic, these are for you. The sauce is incredible, just be careful not to over cook the string beans. If you love the garlic string beans at Din Tai Fung you will love these too, but honestly, most people like these. These were one of the top products I recommended whenever anyone asked me what to buy at TJs and I will continue to recommend them as long as they are in stock. As easy meal idea is using a bag of their frozen jasmine rice, a bag of these garlic string beans, and either the korean bulgogi or some air fried tofu.
2. Savory Squares
I am a little embarrassed about how many boxes of these I ate this year. I was obsessed! Please, Trader Joes, never get rid of these! I don’t even know why I think they are that good. I think part of it has to do with the fact that they are grain and dairy free, and I am always blown away anytime someone makes a delicious paleo snack. But honestly, it is a great snack for anyone with allergies too which makes these a great choice to buy when you are having guests over and are unsure if anyone has any allergies.
1. Jalapeño and Cream Cheese Crispy Wontons
These may burn your mouth if you eat them too fast but, to be honest, it would be worth it. Fried wontons (easy to make in the air fryer) stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeño. These are like crab rangoon for people who don’t like seafood. If you are a jalapeño popper fan, these are like those but even better. Honestly, 10/10 absolutely delicious and I encourage everyone to try these. They do have a little spice so if you are sensitive, maybe stay away, but everyone else, you have to try these!
Honorable Mentions
British Shortbread Cookie Collection – This cookie collection comes with 3 different packs of small cookies. The three varieties are coffee, English toffee and nut, and cocoa. I loved the English toffee and nut cookie so much, and cocoa was also super delicious, but the coffee cookie wasn’t my favorite. But this cookie collection is so fun to serve with coffee or tea.
Triple Creme Brie with Calvados Brandy – This is such a delicious new cheese variety for brie lovers. I ate this with the trader joe’s water crackers all holiday season long. The flavor is outstanding!
Until next year, friends! I can’t wait to try all of the new products 2025 has to offer! I hope they start selling burrito sized Sonora tortillas and finally bring back the chili lime chicken burgers!
