Garlic Parmesan Wings made in the Air Fryer

Garlic Parmesan Wings Recipe

Crispy, Crunchy, Garlicky, Cheesy – Just how I like ’em! I have been working on a recipe for these Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings all football season long and they are finally ready just in time for Super Bowl. This may be one of my easiest recipes yet. I have really shifted my focus to creating easy, family friendly recipes lately – recipes that everyone, even the kids, will enjoy. These wings won’t just be enjoyed by everyone, they will be requested time and time again.

My mom makes incredible baked wings. They are so great, I truly don’t miss them being fried. It is because she seasons them so well. My mom just does not cook bland food, and that is so important especially when you are making the switch from a deep fryer to an oven or air fryer. Using the air fryer instead of the oven cooks wings in half the time, which is fantastic when you are starving or don’t have a lot of time to wait.

Can you cook wings in an Air Fryer?

Absolutely, and it cooks in half of the time as an oven. I cooked these Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings at 375F for 20-25 minutes, flipping them half way to ensure it gets crispy all over. The result was amazingly crispy wings. I them basted them with an extra layer of garlic butter and dipped them in ranch. Both of these steps are optional, but I was making a cooking video for them and I wanted to take these to the next level.

Can you cook Garlic Parmesan Wings in the oven?

There are two ways to bake these wings. The first way is to cook them at 400F for 40 minutes, then at 425F for 11-13 minutes. Cook them on the top rack.

The second way is to cook them at 400F for 45 minutes, then 175F for 40 minutes. This way creates a slightly crispier wing, but it takes a little longer to make it. So, choose what is best for you, and then gather your ingredients so you can start cooking.

To be honest, I normally cook them using the first method because I am usually starving and do not have a lot of time to wait. The flavor is so good, that I don’t care about extra crispiness.

The one important thing to note about the difference between the air fryer recipe and the oven baked recipe is that I do not bake the parmesan on to the wing if I am using the oven method. I add the parmesan in the garlic butter step when I am baking them.

Do the wings have to thaw before Air Frying?

Sometime it is easier to buy frozen wings. You can still make this recipe with frozen wings, but you should have them thaw before you cook them. I prefer to have my wings thaw before cooking because then the seasoning sticks to them better. If you are adding a thick sauce to the wings after you fry them, it doesn’t matter so much if you defrost your wings before air frying. However, in this recipe, thawed wings work best because they absorb the seasoning while cooking.

How many wings should I make per person?

If wings are the only thing I am eating, there have been may times where I have eaten 10, however, usually wings are served in addition to other food. If there will be a bunch of food being served, the general rule is to serve about 5 wings per person.
