Spinach and Feta Roll-Ups

Spinach and Feta Roll-ups! They taste like a warm pretzel filled with spinach and feta cheese – super addictive but SO EASY TO MAKE! These are perfect appetizers to make for a picnic or holiday! I used pre-made pizza dough as the base for these delicious snacks and they were a breeze to make, but look sort of fancy! I have a video of how to make these on my instagram @spinachandbacon .

What does feta pair well with?

Feta is delicious cheese that pairs so perfectly with spinach and other green vegetables. While some cheeses may over-power vegetables’ flavors, Feta offers a nice tangy balance.

Ingredients in Spinach and Feta Roll-Ups:


10 oz Frozen Spinach
6 Green Onions, diced thin
6 oz Feta Cheese
1 Ball of Pizza Dough, cut in half
1 Lemon, juiced
2.5 tbsp Half and Half
1.5 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Pepper
1 egg yolk
Corse salt for topping
Butter or oil

How to make this appetizer:

  1. Thaw the spinach and squeeze out all moisture.
  2. Add 1.5 tbsp Butter or Cooking oil to a pan.
  3. Add green onions, stir, and cook for 4 minutes
  4. Then add spinach, lemon, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 6 – 7 minutes or until moisture has evaporated.
  5. Add half and half, stir and remove from heat.
  6. Add feta and stir.
  7. Roll out your pizza dough halves into two 9 inch circles. Cut each circle into 8 equal slices. Place 1.5 tbsp filling in each slice and roll up.
  8. Place roll-ups on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  9. Mix egg yolk and 1 tbsp water in a small bowl and baste the top each roll-up.
  10. Top each with Maldon Salt, or other corse salt.
  11. Bake for 15-17 minutes(or until the top is brown) at 425°F.

  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Coarse Salt for topping
  • Butter or Oil
