Slaw for Fish Tacos

I have been on a major fish taco kick lately. When it comes to fish tacos, fish is not even the star for me, it’s the slaw! The slaw has to be a little creamy with a tangy burst of vinegar and citrus. Follow the recipe below for the perfect slaw for fish tacos. You can use this slaw on fish tacos or you can make my recipe for Fish Taco Salad.

How do you make easy slaw for fish tacos?

My number one tip is to use a bag of pre shredded cabbage. Not only will this save you a ton of time, I love that these bags normally include more than one type of cabbage which adds beautiful color to your fish tacos. My daughter doesn’t always eat cabbage when I give it to her, but she always reaches for purple cabbage when it is on her plate. She keeps trying it over and over and I remember she loved it the last time she had it.

How do you cut cabbage for fish tacos?

If you cannot find a pre shredded bag of slaw, you can pick up a head of cabbage and cut it yourself. The first thing you should do is cut it in half so that you have two flat sides. Then, put the flat side down on a cutting board, and thinly slice the cabbage.

Slaw is not one of my top side dishes but I love this recipe. Also such a nice complement to so many other dishes.
